So this is one of the only recipes I have that I can take credit for. Shortbread cookies are an amazing treat especially at Christmas time but stuffing a caramilk chocolate bar square into it makes it even more amazing! A very easy recipe and your guests will be begging for more…
Ingredients:
1 cup corn starch
1 cup of icing sugar
2 cups of sifted flour
1 1/2 cups of salted butter
4 caramilk chocolate bars broken into individual pieces and placed in fridge.
Directions
Add ingredients (except for caramilk chocolate pieces) in order and blend until mixed.
take a piece of shortbread and form into a ball and flatten.
Place caramilk chocolate piece and place on flattened ball.
Fold shortbread over chocolate piece and place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
bake in over at 300 for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool. Store in sealed container for up to two weeks.
Enjoy!
The best Cookie ever!!!
I made these trying to use up the chocolate caramel bars from my sons’ school chocolate bar fundraiser, really good, the shortbread is perfect and a nice balance to the the sweetness of the chocolate and caramel. Thanks for a great recipe!
Can I store them in the fridge? Or will caramiilk go too hard ?
Yes for sure!!! And they freeze really well. Just take some out an hour or so before your guests arrive 🙂
Made these today! YUMMM and so easy… Wasn’t sure if butter needed to be melted but went with softened and turned out great after working the dough well. Thanks!
Can the shortbread ingredients be mixed by hand or do I have to use a machine?
Both ways work amazing!
Can unsalted butter be used?
No. This makes the flavour
