So last weekend Xavier was invited to one of his BFF’s birthday party. They held the party at our local grocery store www.pccookingschool.ca To say he had the time of his life is truly an understatement. When we were there he kept insisting on making some pizza for the whole family. The teachers were amazing and even wrote down the recipe for us. Sooooo we came home, with his chef hat still placed proudly on his head and we promised our family a pizza dinner. Our two kiddos had a blast and as a result we wanted to blog the fun of homemade pizza.
I strongly suggest you don’t multiply the recipe. I tried and it really isn’t the same. The pizza size is also perfect for a single adult if you add a side of salad or veggies.
pre-heat oven to 450
Ingredients:
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 tsp fast rising yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
3 pinches of salt
1/2 cup all purpose flour
parchment paper
pizza sauce
mozzarella cheese (or whatever cheese you prefer)
pizza toppings of choice (pepperoni, mushrooms, bacon, peppers, olives, etc…)
Directions:
pour water into bowl
add yeast, sugar, salt (in this order)
add flour
Have child stir with a spoon.
Pick up the dough and roll into a ball. (add more flour if it is too sticky).
Have child knead the dough 4 times and roll back into a ball and place on parchment paper.
Have child help you clean up and wash their hands (about 5 minutes to let the dough sit).
press the dough out into a circle
spread on sauce, sprinkle on cheese and toppings of choice. (at the party they made faces with their toppings.)
place on cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until done.
Enjoy!
